BRIGADIER MALIK FAZAL-UR RAHMAN KALLUE

Brigadier PA-5 Malik Fazal-Ur Rahman Kallue (the father of Lieutenant General Shams ur Rehman Kallu) was  Commissioned on 29 Jan 1927: His Parent unit was 5/5 MLI (5th Battalion of 5th Marhatta Light Infantry).He was later on transferred to 5th Battalion of the 8th Punjab Regt (It became 5 Baloch in the 1956 re-org of the Pakistan Army).In March 1947, he became the first Indian Commanding Officer of 5th Battalion of the 8th Punjab Regt.He was the second Pakistani Military Secretary (MS) at GHQ (the first Pakistani MS was PA-11 Lt Gen Nasir Ali Khan).He also served as President of the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB).His is son of Risaldar Major Abdul Rehman who served with 15th Lancers during the First World War. For his distinguished services and devotion to duty he was awarded the Order of British India (OBI).  Lt Gen PA-3903 Shams-ur-Rahman Kallue from 5th PMA , was son of Brigadier PA-5 Malik Fazal-Ur Rahman Kallue ..Photo contributed by Hamid Hussain.
