With his private practice spanning over more than 17 years, Niazi has represented private limited companies, pharmaceutical concerns, telecom companies etc. in matters involving questions of Constitutional & regulatory nature, etc. He has regularly conducted cases in areas of involving guardianship matter concerning Hague Convention, land revenue, Labor and services law.Barrister Umair Khan Niazi has also served Government of Punjab as Additional Advocate General Punjab till May, 2022.Umair Khan Niazi, joined Pakistani politics in 2024 General elections and became member of the National Assembly of Pakistan in February 2024.He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from NA-90 Mianwali-II as an independent candidate supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the 2024 Pakistani general election.
He received 179,956 votes while runner up Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri of Pakistan Muslim League (N) received 51,266 votes.
Until 2022, Barrister Umair Khan Niazi had been silently working behind the scenes for nine years as part of the party’s legal team. However, the legal troubles of the founding chairman and his party have pulled him into the limelight.Having served as an additional advocate general in Punjab until May 2022, Mr Niazi also served as PTI additional general secretary and a focal person to Imran Khan on legal affairs.A law graduate from University College London, Mr Niazi is an expert in land, revenue, labor and services law and has 17 years of experience arguing cases in various courts.he joined the party in 2013 and his statement about joining politics is ,

His point of view about the state of the legal system, Mr Niazi said a, there is a clear lack of implementation.
“After spending 17 years in the legal practice, I have come to know that yes, laws exist, but implementation is nowhere to be found. As a lawyer, I have handled very complicated cases as well, both political and non-political, and my impression has not changed,” “I have seen the inside and outside of the system, and I am determined to work [to better it],” .
