From Legal Practice to Public Life

Until 2022, Barrister Umair Khan Niazi had been working behind the scenes for nine years as part of the party’s legal team. The legal challenges faced by the party and its founding chairman subsequently brought him into the public spotlight.

Having served as Additional Advocate General Punjab until May 2022, Mr. Niazi also served as PTI Additional General Secretary and as a focal person to Imran Khan on legal affairs.

He joined the party in 2013. As a law graduate from University College London, he has used his legal education and professional experience in constitutional, land, revenue, labour and service law in his political and public career.

View on the Legal System

Regarding the state of the legal system, Mr. Niazi has expressed the view that there is a clear lack of implementation despite the existence of laws.
