MALIK MUMTAZ AHMAD BHACHER, SON OF MALIK GHULAM ABBAS KHAN, WAS BORN ON OCTOBER 1, 1941 AT WAN BACHARAN, DISTRICT, MIANWALI; IS A GRADUATE; AND, COMES OF A FAMOUS POLITICAL FAMILY, ESPECIALLY WITH REFERENCE TO THE PAKISTAN MOVEMENT. HIS GRAND-FATHER REMAINED MLA/MPA FOR A RECORD TIME OF TWENTY FOUR YEARS.
AN AGRICULTURIST, WHO SERVED AS PRESIDENT ANJUMAN KASHTKARAN FOR FIVE YEARS; AND, AS VICE-PRESIDENT AIWAN-E-ZARAT PUNJAB FOR THREE YEARS. HE IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH SALT RIVER PROJECT, AGRICULTURE UNIVERSITY FAISALABAD COUNCIL FOR PAKISTAN ENERGY CONSERVATION CENTRE, AGRICULTURAL PRICES COMMISSION, COST OF PRODUCTION COMMITTEE, SUGARCANE BOARD, EWAN-I-ZARAAT PUNJAB AND FARMERS & WORLD AFFAIRS USA. HE VISITED FARMERS DELEGATION TO BALOCHISTAN AND NWFP. HE WAS ELECTED TO THE PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PUNJAB FIRST IN 1985; AND, LATELY, IN 1997.
