A legend and committed educationist. Akhtar Iqbal Shah, a prominent name among the educationists of Mianwali district, was a very kind friend of ours. I was introduced to him a long time ago by my elder brother Malik Muhammad Anwar Ali. Bhai Jan. Akhtar Iqbal Shah was the Headmaster of High School in Jandanwala. Both were also sincere friends.
Akhtar Iqbal Shah was also a very good teacher and a very successful school administrator. During the time when he was the headmaster of Kalabagh High School, there were meetings with him. We had a very interesting conversation. Many beautiful memories of this period are associated with him. During his period, Kalabagh School was prominent throughout the district in terms of discipline and education. Akhtar Iqbal Shah made many reforms in the school system and made it an exemplary institution.
Shah Sahib was a very smart and charming person.
After his retirement, Shah Sahib joined Allama Iqbal Open University and moved to Islamabad with his son. A few years ago, Mianwali came to meet me in connection with some work. This was our last meeting. A few days later, news suddenly came that Shah Sahib was no longer in this world.
