Zafar Khan Niazi , Station Director Rted Radio Pakistan Islamabad (Grade 20) from Radio Pakistan in 2006 . He was born on 25 August 1946 (1 day and 1 year before creation of Pakistan) in Duad khel Mianwali son of Surat Khan Niazi by profession he producer and play writer but is also wel known poet and having lot of books at his credit .
He did his BSc Physics, Mathematics from Govt College Mianwali in 1966 and did his MSc Mathematics from Punjab University in 1969.
He started his carrier from Pakistan broadcasting as producer , PCB Quetta, Baluchistan in 1981 and remind there till 1984 and before becoming Station Director he served at various appointment at various places as Senior Producer, PCB Rawalpindi (1984-1987), Senior Producer PCB, Islamabad (1987-1996), Programme Manager External & World Service(1996-1997), Programme Manager PCB Islamabad (1997-1999), Deputy Controller External Service & World Service Islamabad (1999-2000), Deputy Controller, PCB, BH, Islamabad (2002-2002), Station Director, Dera Ismail khan (KPK)(Dec 2002), Station Director, PCB, Rawalpindi (2003) and finally retired as Station Director, Radio Trarkhel, Azad Kashmir (Chief Editor Baang, a monthly magazine covering Kashmir issue in the light of Pakistan Government Policy on Kashmir)(2003-2006) Zafar Khan Niazi was superb in Radio Pakistan and he always believed that programmes should be arranged to suit the masses.
He also wrote many plays and some of them are “Jindri Nal Jehan” a serial of 13 Episode to be aired in April 2010 produced by PTV Executive Producer Muhammad Akber Malik, “Mustaqbil” a serial of 13 episodes, 50 minutes each, based on Child Labour, Planned and Produced by Ministry of Labour, Govt of Pakistan and ILO, aired on NTM in 1997-1998 and “Shaphol” a serial of six episodes, 25 mints each, produced by PTV Quetta in 1978-1979.
Zafar khan niazi is a prolific writer and poet which is evident from his work his first book ‘’Chaukor Pehayay ‘’ of Mini short stories and aphorism was published in 1982 . other books at his credit are ‘’Khawab Kanaray’’ (Poetry)1992,’’Khawabshar’’ (Poetry)1997,’’Paewand’’ (Mystic tales – retold)2004,Prai-Nazmain (translation) A project of National Book Foundation Islamabad on Urdu Translation of Selective World Poetry -Baraf Poosh Chamni 2012.
He is proud to be mianwalian and always love his mother land like any thing he is very loving and caring person .mianwali is proud of this son of soil.
